    Default New Tony Miller Advice

    Hello all

I have a tony miller latigo and cotton strop in transit.

Any tips, suggestions or the like to give me on break in treatment conditioning.

Is there anything i should do with it other than rub it with my palm...what about the cotton. Does it need the soap treatment or nothing...

or do tony's strops come pretty much ready to use out of the box...just a little rub and strop away.

    Thanks

I am so anxious to get the strop so i can get my second shave with my new Dovo Renaissance...what a nice looking razor and a tm strop will be a nice companion.

    Thanks for any advice.

No break-in needed. Just use it out of the box. Down the road if it seems to get dry you can use some neatsfoot oil or strop conditioner or oil from the palm of your hand.

    Eric,
The strop will come with several pages of instruction on care and use. This covers paddles and hanging strops.

I guess patience is in order...when I get into something I always get way too excited and ask questions before i need to ... kind of like asking how to put together a dresser before you even get the box home...haha...

Thanks tony and I cant wait...

I got my TM strop about a month ago and hang it behind by bedroom door so no humidity from the bathroom wil get to it (recomendation in the papers when you get it). I am now in the habit of rubbing it with my hands every time I see it thus 1 x morning 1x bedtime, takes only a few seconds. Its breaking in nicely and has a "natural" oily feeling to it

Take your stropping easy when you first get it. My latigo had a lot more draw than any other strop I've had. It took me awhile to get used to it. As I used it either the draw got easier or I got a better feel for the latigo ..... or both. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

Could anyone post a pic of what Tony's Cotton strop looks like?
I've lately been thinking about adding a component...

This is one of the great things about this forum. Erictski asks a question about a Tony Miller strop and along comes Tony Miller (what..like 8 minutes later?) to answer it.

    Bill,
I actually just removed the post as the picture was not of the latest cotton material. My website will have better photos but I don't have them on my laptop while away, just the older ones.

    Sorry about that.
