Looking for a thread relating to a Stropping Experiment
I am looking for a thread that related to a stropping experiment where a member stropped a number of times and then shaved to see what number of laps would make the razor the sharpest. If I remember the average number of laps to produce the sharpest edge was 40 and any laps over 60 was not doing any good.
If anyone remembers this thread would you please tell me the author or the name and date of the thread.
It may have been posted in 2007 or 2006. Also it may have been lost in the great mishap in the early part of 2008.
Cheers,

I'm afraid I'm the guilty party.
As I recall doing 60 strokes before shaving gave the best result. Splitting up 30 before and 30 after had good result also but not as good as 60 after. Increasing the number of strokes gave no further benefit.
It was called the grand experiment and that's how you would find it.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I'm a 60/60 man myself. On the last twenty
passes for both the linen and the leather, I
do ultra-light strokes, as light as possible
while maintaining contact.
