Thanked: 0Tandy Leather Factory -- anyone used their leather?
I'm considering making a strop and was wondering if anyone has ever used The Tandy Leather Factory (Tandy Leather Factory - Home) for their leather?

good question. I was just browsing their site yesterday, and didn't pull the trigger since I wasn't sure either.
I was eyeing the 3" wide "natural" color strap blanks myself. I'm gonna make my big old paddle strop double sided.

Guys, check out my post. Their leather works good. Be prepared to do a lot of sanding on the dry leather to get it flat. Also, the dry leather needs quite a few neats foot oil treatments afterward.
Hope this helps,

Thanked: 53I made a couple of 2-sided paddle strops using Tandy leather (3" strap), it worked fine. As said above, it took some sanding to get it leveled out but I've been using it daily (almost a year) to good effect - one side plain and one side pasted w/CrOx.
