Thanked: 1903Even if your razor was a Chronik, proper pressure could not do that to a strop. When stropping, apply minimum pressure, always.
As for re-using the strop, do as Paco suggested and turn its usable part into a paddle strop. I think there is a howto in the Wiki, too.

Thanked: 317Not trying to be a jerk here, but pose an actual question.
Regardless of pressure, how does this happen at all?
Did you forget to flip your razor for the return stroke, or where you stropping edge-first on purpose for some reason, or have I been stropping completely wrong?

Thanked: 522Hey booby, I haf maybe anudder remedy. Cut the strop completely in half, take the longest half and make a flatbed strop out of it. Now, take the shortest half outside on the freshly mown lawn and saturate it with gasoline. Strike a match and ignite the gasoline. Immediately after the gas is ignited and firing on all cylinders, slap yourself as hard as you possibly can. Now, raise your right hand and swear to high Heaven that you will never do that again, EVER !!!!!!! SamattaforU.
Seriously though, relax and make your own strop from a 3" x 50" top grain cowhide strip from TANDY Leather. However you must hand select the strips to avoid blemishes. I have several and they work.j s

Thanked: 402Go see a furrier for a proper leather glue and a piece of lining fabric.
Glue it, glue the entire thing onto lining fabric and sand the part of the front side where the cut was.
Thats what I'd do.
