Thanked: 52SRD 100% Cotton Weave
Has anyone gotten a SRD strop and opted for the 100 cotton instead of their webbing. If so how does it work or is the webbing better. I am thinking of buying a Premium I strop and wonder if i should get the webbing or cotton. I would like to put dovo white paste on it. for everyday stropping.

Thanked: 52bump.
Nobody has used the Cotton from Straight razor design. Well then may I ask how the webbing would work with the dovo white? Thanks guys for any input.
O and one more thing. Is the draw on the Premium I strop less than that of the latigo...

I haven't used the cotton but I have the premium 1 with the webbing. First of all I love the premium 1 and it has become my go to strop. It has more draw than horse and less than latigo. For me it feels just about right and it is a beautiful piece of leather. As far as the webbing. I got the strop when it was the only option. If there had been a cotton or a linen option I would have taken it but now I'm glad that there wasn't at that time.
I was skeptical about the webbing what with it being nylon or some sort of synthetic but I recently started using it and I am getting very good results with it. Whether it is really better than my linen or not is hard to say but I tend to think that it is. I don't have any kind of scientific training to back this up or to be sure of it. i am only going by how the razors I am stropping on it feel when I shave with them. The difference is subtle but I do believe it is there.
I am now doing the method that thebigspendur came up with in "the great experiment" threads. I do 60 and 60. I don't use paste on the webbing or on any of the linen strops I have for that matter. I reserve that for my hanging felt and my flatbed and loom strops.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 25I don't have a cotton strop from SRD but I do have on from TM and I really like it. I don't think I would go with anything different.
