    Default Type of linen?

I've been thinking about doing my own stop, but as I don't own a strop with linen I don't which kind of linen i should buy.

    Would one of these do?

I've seen them on strops in that fashion
but personally I think that a fish bone type weaving would be better.

I like the look of the 'Primo' weave. Looks good.

Let us know how whichever one you choose works out.

I have a SRD Premium 2 strop and the "webbed fabric" is pretty darn coarse. Probably somewhere between the regular and the original in those pictures. Seems to do the trick though.

My wool/cotton strop arrived today and the cotton side looks like it's a bit finer than the Primo you have pictured. I already covered it with chromium oxide though, so unfortunately I can't give you an accurate comparison between it and the "coarse" weave.

Has anyone tried other materials other than linen? fine-weaved burlap or hemp perhaps?
