diamond spray, how often to apply?

I've been using the 0.5 μ diamond spray from straight razor designs on the linen part of my Illinois 827 strop. I strop with the coated linen about once a week, and arbitrarily re-apply a new coat about every four uses (once a month).

So far its been doing a good job to supplement the regular leather stropping I do with each shave. But the stuff is expensive and I wonder if I am over spraying? Anyone else have more experience as to how long the stuff lasts? Unlike pastes, its kind of hard to see it after it dries.
