    Default Recommend a strop?

I just bought my first straight razor. And I'm now looking to get a strop so i can actually use it.

Sorry if I've missed a thread about this subject.
I was just wondering if some experienced people could recommend a good strop.
I'm looking to spend about 50 bucks, little more or little less, doesn't matter.

Thanks in advance for your help, this seems like a great community.

    Welcome to SRP.

You will find a number of good strops (more or less in your price range except for mine) in our reviews section.

From personal experience, I would strongly recommend buying a cheap strop. You will most likely nick it. Razor stropping - Straight Razor Place Wiki is most certainly worth a read, too.

Good luck, and keep us posted,
    Robin

Thank you, i hadn't even seen the review section, I'm glad you pointed that out.
I think I'll take your advice and just start off with a cheap one until i get the feel for it.
I saw Dovo had some cheap ones on classic shaving.

    Thank you again.

    Thanks for the links.
I think I'm going to get the ruprazor filly.
$20 including shipping, that's the best price I've seen anywhere.
With the extra money I can put more towards a new brush.

I'd recommend getting one of the "starter" strops from one of our great vendors. They are good quality, yet inexpensive strops. The reason I recommend them is that you are going to nick your strop as you develop your stropping skills. Hey, it comes with the learning curve. When you are fully comfortable and have developed a good technique you can then purchase one of those very nice ones.
