    Default Help with felt strop

I have a leather / felt combo strop and the felt side has gotten some water drops on it. This in turn has raised the felt up in these spots. I am a little unsure on how to return this back to its former self.
    Do I:
    - get the whole thing wet and iron it out
    - get it wet and use a roller on it
    - get it wet and use a press of sorts to squish it till it dries
    - any of the above without the use of water

Any advice would be appreciated. I do not want to just try something because it seems that it would work, just to fond out it made things worse.

    Thanks,
    Jerry

    Hi Jerry,

I use the flat side of a scissors edge and just keep going back and forth over the felt with medium pressure to even it out.

    Hope this helps,

    Lynn

I addition to what Lynn said, the Standard Book Of Barbering mentions that the canvass side of the strop can be cleaned with lather periodically. I think lather was the answer to everything at one time, strop condition-lather, hone-lather, shave-lather, holloween-lather your neighbors car
