Hey Tony,
One Q: I have at home NOS army belt, made of good quality leather (now cut in two pieces) and I was thinking of making me a strop for jeweler's rouge paste. What do you recomend, gluing it to wood, or using it like regular strop?
thanx,
Nenad

Thanked: 2209I glue my abrasive pasted leathers,..... all of them. I do not want to round the edge from the slack in a hanging strop.

Nenad,
If you are using it qwith any pastes you will get better results with it glued to a hard surface. You eliminate any flexing which could round the edge. You could use a good contact cement applied to both the lather and the wood to hold it down.

Thanx Tony and Randy,
I will glue one piece and maybe use the other as a hanging strop... Let's see if the army pinched the penny on the leather
