I've not felt the need to use the yellow ( tallow aka animal fat ) on any strops in a long time ..
If your strop is a good quality and feels smooth , Id personally just rub your hand over it a few times everyday . Lynn - founder of SRP does this .

If after having a wee read and you decide to fire some of the yellow paste on use little amounts 1/4 snurdles ( half a small garden pea size ) and give it a good rub in , then give the strop a wipe with a clean dry cloth .
