Thread: Request for someone to add to the Wiki

I'm a complete newb here, only been here a few months, but I'm trying to find more information on why you would select one grade of leather/horsehide and so on over another. I know it's personal choice but how do I find out what i want and or need without buying them all.

What's the difference between latigo and buffalo hide?

What's the difference between cotton and canvas?

I tried doing a search a few different ways but I'm just frustrated at the end. I know it's most likely in here in some thread or another but to go through the amount of threads to find it would take me days possibly.

If I've missed something in the stickies or wiki I apologize.

Here is a tip for you. I went to search on the menu above. I selected 'advanced search' from the menu. I typed in Tony Miller as the user name and Latigo as the key word. Here are the results. There ought to be many pearls of wisdom among the many threads if you want to do a bit of mining.

+1 On Tony Miller. I use one of his Heirloom Strops (Horse hide/ Latigo) it does a great job. His store front is closed for vacation but if you scroll down there is a section labeled What Strop To Choose. Here's a link to to his site. I hope this helps.
