Treating a strop
I have a Thiers-Issard tablet strop which has a nice rough side to apply paste on. Now the question I have is, how much past should I put on it?
What I have understood is you strop with the treated side first, then the smooth side, correct? Should I clean the razor after this in any way to remove excess paste?
Thanks!

Iggy,
I have a wide TI paddle strop and made the mistake of being too liberal with the paste - it stuck the 'pile' of the strop together into one solid, hard mass; not nice. I cleaned the paste off, and re-applied it very sparingly, rubbing in with a cloth. Still stuck the pile together in places !
Must be my famous cack-handedness
BTW I have tried the TI paste, Dovo red paste and Amplex Diamond with this strop.
best regards
Russ

Hi Iggy,
This link might be helpful, it has pictures of strop pasting.
