See my reply above about Kremer 0.3 micron chromium oxide powder. I have personally used the 0.3 micron chromium oxide from Kremer for about four years.

Thanks! Have you used any other of their pigments?

I have personally used their 0.1 micron (actually, 0.09) micron iron oxide for the same length of time - 4 years. I use 0.3 micron on balsa, wipe the blade, then strop on 0.1 micron iron oxide on the other side of the piece of balsa, wipe blade and strop on leather.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. I want to make my balsa strop with CrOx on one side and something else on the other one. Is this the one - Iron Oxide Brown 655 ? I assume you're happy with the results since you've been using it for 4 years.

I like both abrasives very much.

Chromium Oxide has the Kremer Pigments #44200. Iron Oxide has the Kremer Pigments #48100.

Here are the links to the abrasives I use...

    Chrome Oxide Green

Iron Oxide Red 110 M, light
