Thanks for the information about FeOxide. At 0.1 micron, I didn't realize it was so fine! And, I will try it.

I am doing well with CrOxide as my last polish, (0.5 from SRDesigns and 0.3 from Kremer.) However, who is ever satisfied?

I ordered some 0.25 micron diamond spray from SRDesigns, and it should arrive any day. I will try it as my final polish. But, the one complaint I hear about using diamond as the final polish is that it leaves a more gouged, harsh bevel and edge. Sharp! But, not as smooth as with CrOxide.

I think I will experiment with the diamond spray.
I will then experiment with the diamond spray, followed by the FeOxide.

That Iron Oxide Red 110 M light almost sounds too good to be true. Anyone know how big the SiO2 + Al2O3 particles are that make up 4% of the pigment and if they would cause any problems?

I don't know about the particle size of the other fillers other than the iron oxide. But, I am very satisfied with the 110 product iron oxide from Kremer. The same goes for the 0.3 micron Chromium Oxide from Kremer.

I contacted a representative from Kremer with the same question about the 0.3 micron CrO. It took them a week to contact the technical staff in Germany and get an answer. Basically, they said that the QA on the product was extremely stringent. And, that they couldn't guarantee that bigger particles didn't exist. But, if so, they would be a very very small percentage.

I would suspect the same applies to other Kremer products. Anyone I have heard talk about Kremer, and most seem to be European, speak very highly of their products.

Kremer is a serious/good company in terms of pigment supply for artists. When I lived in NYC my brother would have me go to their 29th street store to buy him pigments he needed. They were pretty serious- many toxic pigment jars lining the walls. Customers were not allowed to touch anything. Once, a couple was browsing the pigments and kept reaching for them. The store clerk got angry and kept warning them not to touch anything but the people didn't listen. Eventually they got kicked out of the store in a pretty violent manner. It was great. Wish I had thought about all this when I lived down there.

I've used Kremer pigments for my soaps from the get go.
They always delivered a consistent quality, correct stuff and in a very friendly manner.
It is the very same stuff that you get when you order cosmetic or pharmacy ingredients and the analysis has shown the very best results. (Had to get those done because of regulations)
For what they market it (Artist supply) its above standard.

I can´t add much to what Olivia said, only that I have used the Pr 110 for several months now, on many many razors.
It delivered very smooth results, nothing like harsh or agressive,
it´s very smooth polishing without leaving any scratches (from irregularities or such) at all. Remember not to apply much to the leather and to be extremely careful, and avoid breathing in the particles

I'm sorry for reviving such an old thread but while looking for CrOx in Bulgaria I found a distributor of Kremer. I've read all posts here and they are all positive. The only thing that worries me is that CrOx is usually 0.5 micron while the Kremer one is 0.3 micron. I'm going to be using it for refreshing my straight but later on when I get my lapping film also for honing after the 1 micron lapping film. Is it suitable for this or should I get a 0.5 micron one? Thanks!
