Thanked: 9Diamond paste on felt
Hi,
I need some advice on applying diamond paste on felt. as I don't have the diamond spray.
I bought some felt 3 mm thick which I intend to glue on balsa. How do I
cover the felt with this paste? Do I have to dilute the diamond paste (it is water-based) and spray over the felt?
What do You think? Thanks.

Thanked: 522Diamond Paste
I have both the spray and the pastes and I am finding less and less use for them. If you are hell bent on using the paste on felt, put a little dab every square inch and lightly rub it in with one finger. If you feel this is not enough coverage, repeat the process until the felt is pasted enough to your satisfaction.
If you want to use the diamond spray, make a plain leather flatbed strop on tile or glass and just spray the leather. I also have a piece of old bluejean material wrapped around a piece of half inch balsawood for the diamond spray.
I am getting away from the diamond stuff. I finish hone on a Shapton 16k and then a few laps on a .5 micron Chromium Oxide flatbed leather strop is quite sufficient for a decent shave.
I have a secret GURU in Missouri who told me to finish this way......
Diamond paste can be fun but not necessary.....
