Thanked: 1Need advice on how to designate each of my strops to one job
So, I am a somewhat new user to SR shaving. I am planning on buying a TM latigo/linen strop here soon, and I will also pick up the second quality strop with it, because it is such a good deal.
Anyways, when I buy the TM package, I will have the TM latigo/linen strop, the second quality strop, a Rup Razor "the filly" which has some chrom-ox on the back, and ALSO a DOVO Leather/Linen strop that I had from years ago, that I damaged the leather side of, but have kept since it has a linen side that is still usable.
I am somewhat a newbie, but I am wondering if anyone here can give me some advice on how to assign each strop to one job, so I have a nice variety of strop for different jobs. For instance, I would like one awesome every day strop (the TM), but I would also like a Travel strop, and a designated pasting strop. I am wanting to maximize my use of all the strops I have
If you have several strops, how would you set them up? Would chromium oxide be enough for pasting, or should i also get a second grit, like diamond spray?
When traveling, how does one pack a strop without damaging it? is it safe to roll it into a coil?
Is linen best without any abrasive on it, or should I put some abrasive on one of the linens I have?
