Thanked: 0Just got a dovo and strop from Vintage blades
Just got a new Dovo razor and a latigo strop form vintage blades. The razor came honed from Lynn the directions that came with the razor and strop said to strop it on the linen side then the leather side every time before a shave.
I thought that you used the leather side only unless the razor was starting to get dull then touched it up on linen then back to leather. Help me out here I do not want to mess up my brand new blade.
Thanks for the help
Don

Hey Don, welcome to SRP!
Lots of people (Most? All?) use linen before leather as kind of a "warm-up". It's fine to use plain linen before every shave. If the strop is pasted with some kind of abrasive, then it's used only occasionally as a touch up.
Otherwise, it's fine!
You can get more info in the Wiki--check the beginner's guide, and the stropping section.
Good luck, and enjoy your shaves!
