    I'm surprised at the difference! Not just better aligned, but it actually seems smoother too.
    Do you have access to this again? It'd be interesting to see how linen affects the edge compared to leather.

    Can you find a deep scratch or other landmark on the edge to use for reference and try to retake the photos showing the same spot before and after stropping?

    I use Dovo white pasted on my canvas. I will try and do another experiment next week. The Dovo white is definitely abrasive though, not simply a stropping effect.

    I'll see if I can capture the images.
