    Default Question!

Has anyone tried this cheap strop from bestgroomingtools.com? It seems like too good a price to be anything but junk, but I have ordered from them about a dozen time with never a bad experience or product. Just thought I would ask for some professional input.

I have a filly-ish strop, but I am looking to get a different style to try. I'm very new to this so I don't want to spend a lot of money on a strop I will probably tear up, and I don't really need the highest quality strop on earth, just something that will permit me to use my straights and something I won't cry if I nick.

    Thanks
    Drew

    Default filly-ish strop

Drew, what do you mean by filly-ish strop. If you mean dirty clean it with lather or saddle soap. That strop listed seams ok. I have several strops they have different feel but are about the same. I know there is quite a ZEN about different equipment and you will have more then $19.95 invested in strops before you quit buying. I have more invested and have not quit yet.

I mean filly-ish as in like the Filly strop that is sold on ruprazors.com that most members here recommend for beginners. It is basically the same thing, I just got it from another member rather than from there.

I think I might go for it just in case. Worst case, I'm out $20 and have to curb the RAD for a bit.

bestgroomingtools.com is a great store! Having a linen (or whatever) piece as well as a leather piece adds to the fun of stropping.

It's true, I do love that store. They supplied all my DE needs when I was shaving that route. Unfortunately, their straight sections leaves much to be desired and I have resorted to using (primarily) the bay. Lots of decent razors for criminally low prices, I have picked up 4 for under $10
