You should be using the untreated felt every day, followed by the leather.

OK, thanks for the info. I guess what I'll do is treat one side of my paddle strop with CO to be used from time to time and leave my hanging strop with the hard felt alone. Then at some point shop for another hard felt to treat with the .5 micron diamond spray.
