Default Shaving oil for leather strop conditioning?

Sup guys, just a quick question here, I was just wondering whether I could use some shaving oil on my leather strop to keep it nice and smooth? Any advice? Should I just try to find something else? The problem here is that I don't know many stores with straight razor-related stuff, I live in Mexico, near Mexico City...

BTW its a Maca Root Shave Oil from The Body Shop... bought it some time ago and I can't find any other use for it.

    Thanks

If you need to condition the strop Neetsfoot oil is best. As an alternative you can just rub the strop with the palm of your hand every few days (or every day) and that will keep the strop in pretty good shape. The oils in your skin replace the oils in the leather .

BTW, neetsfoot oil is often available in hardware or sporting goods stores. I think SRD carries a particularly high grade of oil and they will ship overseas.
