    Talking Bought a new strop

    Hello all,

I recently bought a new four sided paddle strop fom Tony Miller. It was very nice, but there was a problem in shipping. The USPS damaged it, not beyond use but they did break the handle. When I called Tony and discussed this episode with him he said "Send it back", well I said just send me a new dowel for the handle and I'll take care of it.

Well, Tony said if I feel comfortable fixing it no problem. As it turns out he was so unhappy with the way that his product was represented that he is sending me another strop and letting me keep the broken one.

I have almost never seen this kind of customer service. He was quick to return my phone call and to answer any questions that I had. He was genuinly concerned that the strop was damaged.

I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with Tony and his four sided strop.

    Thank you Tony.

    Tim

    Tim,
I felt bad your new purchase was marred with a damaged item. I had actually switched suppliers for the dowels I used in the wooden handles and they were not nearly as strong as they should be. I had a few with issues all sent 2 weeks ago and felt bad that customers didn't get my best product or what they expected. The easy fix was to just send everyone affected a new strop built with the correct oak dowels.

I think I tracked them all down but just in case I didn't and you bought a paddle from me the last week of October and the handle is not right just let me know. I stand behind my products 100% and try to offer the best that I can. One of those weeks <g>.

    Thumbs up Kudos, Tony!

Years ago there was a commercial that showed people at their respective jobs, putting their name on their work. Basically, the commercial was asking the question of whether you were proud enough of your work to put your name on it! Obviously, Tony is!

My paddle strop is an earlier version, and Tony kindly offered to upgrade it. I turned him down because I don't feel he owes me anything, and I like the strop. So, he naturally came out with a few more products. Don't worry Tony, I'm saving some cash!

As Tony has demonstrated, you can't buy this kind of advertising or reputation. Only earn it.

    Thumbs up Tony Miller

I don't think you'll see anything written out here other than great things about Tony and his service. He's doing things the right way. He seems to have a lot of satisfied customers, including myself.

That is the best advertising in the world.

P.S. Hey Daoust...where did you get your name? Is that your given name? We've been calling my younger brother "Daoust" as a nickname for about 25 years. I've never seen it before other than on the former Toronto Maple Leaf Dan Daoust.
