i just realised something
ive been using a really soft cheap strop for a while now
a few weeks ago i also got a pease of thick cow leather and made a strop out of that using the flesh side as that was by far the smoothest
so using one werry soft leather (almost sky) and one much sturdier i keep nicking the soft one almost every time while the hard leather still hasnt gotten the first mark yet
so i think ill avoid the softest for now
or is the issue related more to that the one i cut is a bit cupped?
Does anyone else have strops that gets cut more then others
or is that just my experiense?
i just noticed that the cupping strop and a frowning blade might have a simular problemLast edited by janivar123; 11-25-2009 at 08:02 PM.

Mostly it will happen
1 user is not keep strop tight enough
2 it is longer and wider needs to be used a lot force then usual keep it straight
3, not properly stropping techniques
which one you have i have no idea

hmm not proper teckniqe
wide and cupping (blade digs in on the edges)
tighter dosnt work better
and i need a better strop NOW
its the soft part of a barber and beauty i think ill just write it off as soon as i can

Its good practice as I also have a strop that has been in many fights with my razors and to date the razors have not totally won!
I am up for a new strop but only after I have found my self the perfect razor lol.
