Default If normal steel takes 50 laps will the new steels take 100?

I was wondering about stropping different steels. I have some older Carbon razors that are made of very good steel but the new forging TI's are made of some very hard steel. Do the new TI's need more laps on the strop to get the desired results? I am thinking of getting a new forging but that is something to consider if you are going to use it as an everyday shaver.

I've got three of the new TI steel and they seem like any other razor to me. Any other really good razor I might add. I do my usual stropping routine with them and so far so good.

But what would you hone it with? And would it give a comfortable shave?

Honing might be a slightly different game.

Your face is the ultimate judge. If yours shaves
as good as mine does who cares.

BTW, that green stuff on the back of some strops is
    for polishing Kryptonite edges.

You just have to remember the green kryptonite is affected by the red so if you have the green in the razor you just get the red on a hone and your all set.

Strops have two sides. I use Red Latigo Leather
with a tiny bit of special green stuff on the back. Works
for both red and green kryptonite.

Back to topic given the thinness of the cutting edge
I think the OP will be fine with the same 50 laps on the strop
maybe less. Do not ignore the canvas side....

Stropping is not honing so harder on the hone
may not translate to harder to strop.
