    Default new old strop

I just bought a strop at the flea market today for five dollars. It doesn't look like there is anything wrong with it. It is a little dry but no scars and it has a canvas strop attached. The name looks like Rooo but it is faded. What can I put on it to make it softer. I have neats foot oil will that work? Mack
By the way, I will post pics later.

I think that most guys use just that.

Alternately I love saddle soap for all dry leather needs.

If you can get it use" RM Williams saddle dressing" it is available in the US have seen it advertised in the Western Horseman magazine' I use a very old strop at home (a Dovo travel strop at work) and I just give it a good dressing as and when I feel it needs it. The only problem you may have is the stitching can rot with neatsfoot oil. I find super glue very effective when that old stitching fails.

    Cheers
Keep yo hoss well shod an yo powdah dry !
