    Default which is the proper grip for stropping a razor

    Hello, I have a question about the proper way to hold a razor while stropping. Do you keep the same grip for both strokes, forwards and backwards? In the Barbers manual it says thumb on top of shank and forefinger on bottom for even pressure for both strokes . But on the video's it looks like they have their thumb for the forward stroke on the side of the shank where the jimps are, and then thumb on the top for the backward stroke. Which is the corect method?
