Thread: When to strop?

Silly question time, but I don't recall seeing this question before. Does it matter when you strop your razor? For example, is it okay to strop at night before using the razor the next morning, or does the stropping need to be done at shave time? I'm just trying to figure out a way to save a bit of time without sacrificing shave quality.

I have done it the night before with no noticeable problems. I kind of like the delay. I get to think "you're going to put that sharp item where?"

The "when to strop" is an ongoing debate haha... My guess would be to do it when ever you get a chance.

I strop about 30-50 times before each shave and 10-20 after each shave, just before it goes back into the coffin box. I like to strop after each shave to make sure I've cleared the edge of any debris, oils, and moisture before storing the blade.

I would say anytime is a good time to strop
