Default have you ever notice different sound ?

have you ever notice sound differences while you strop between shave ready and not blade?
    I don't know why but i do?
without touching the edge just stropping i can say this blade is shave ready or not.
I am getting slowly crazy i guess ?

If you're crazy, so am I.

More noticeable (to me) with full hollow razors on horsehide strops with little draw, but I can still hear the difference on latigo. A raspy sound that lets me know the razor is in the zone.

I don't recall hearing that sound on half or quarter hollows, but definately with full hollows.

Being rather hard of hearing I only occasionally notice noises.

    What?

Depending on the strop and the blade. Full Hollows make the most sound like kind of cut glass. Some are quite loud. Its one of the reasons they call them singing razors.
