    Pastor,

When you apply the diamond spray to wool felt, please be careful to make sure that it the felt dries flat.

I found that I over-did the application of spray to a felt padle strop, and it dried with a lump in the middle - this did no good at all to my edges

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ

    Pastor,

I applied two (2) coats, each with the felt sprayed to visibly wet - this led to the felt swelling and drying with a hump

I would now apply many (say 5) very light coats, drying between each.

If IRC, the instructions say that when you strop, there should be a small amount of dust visible on the razor.

Lukcily I was able to flatten the hump, and the strop peformed really well after that

    Have fun !

    best regards

    Russ

Since nobody answered your question from 5 days ago, let me say that you would be well advised to try a felt strop either sprayed or pasted with either .5 or .25 diamond spray or diamond paste.

    Thank you.
I have decided to buy the paddle from Lynn, that is linked in this thread.
I will buy an extra felt, and two extra diamond sprays, so that I have 1.0, 0.5 and 0.25 micron on three different felts.
Cant wait to try it out.

Hi Pastor. Let me warn you first that I am not a honemeister. However, I have gotten a pretty great edge on two razors by using slurry from my own 12k Chinese stone as strop paste. They pass the hanging hair test with no problem. I mentioned this in another thread, and it seems to have worked for some others as well. Be sure that the strop feels very smooth after you apply the slurry (no gritty bits). A slight oiling (some prefer lathering)of the strop before applying slurry is probably a good idea. Let it dry, strop carefully, then strop on an 'unslurried' strop, and see what happens

Does chromium oxide (the green stuff) work best un roughed leather or plain leather?

So I am thinking off getting this from Lynn too:

What kind of surface would that work best on - roughed leather, plain leather or hard wool felt?
