I've got the tubes of green and red dovo paste and i was wondering how i go about applying them to strops; what do i apply/work them in with? how much do i use and i guess finally how long should an application last before i need to do it again? any help is really appreciatted, thanks.

Yup, thats a great resource. I wouldn't use 2-3 pea size drops for a small paddles strop, probably less. I use very, very small amounts, rubbed in with my finger and reapply every 3 months, or if the paddle becomes real black. Try to ensure that, when done, you have a smooth flat surface, free of micro hills and valleys from the paste.

i put the red on a cheap hanging strop and the green on an old wide belt, ive been going at it for probably 2 hours or more and i think im doing well, ive got the razor cutting eyebrow hairs (figured they were beard like) with relative ease (not as in shaving my eyebrows lol but the hanging hair test btw). i think im going to give it a few passes on the paste-less strop's linen and leather and then put this thing down for the night.

lightly squeezing the eyebrow between my thumb and pointer finger it seemed like i got 3-4 to come out very easily, not even a hint of a plucking sensation... i know, still a kinda weird lol

i couldnt resist the temptation to try and shave though so of course i did, i got reasonably close (didnt even bother trying to do my mustache or chin area so i have a 5 o'clock shadow go-t right now lol) but it was pulling a bit so i obviously need to get the razor sharper and in trying to go against the grain it was even more obvious the razor wasnt sharp enough. that said it was the first time i used the brush i got along with lavender scented cake soap from classic shaving and that was certainly nice; i got a good lather pretty easy (i was almost expecting this to be difficult but i think i have good water in my area), id say the highlight of it all was the proraso aftershave though, smells very good and that cooling sensation was like no other aftershave ive ever used.
