Funny. I've been doing this so long it's become so automatic I don't actually know how I hold the razor. When I tried slowing down and concentrating on what I was doing I almost nicked my strop.

Also, if you attach your strop to a doorknob, make sure you cinch it really well and pull tension the right way. I've heard some tragic tales of strop mutilation that start with, "my strop slipped over the doorknob and..."
Sorry to say This is wrong stropping video.

Please explain. Do you mean the video displays incorrect technique?

I find it really helpful to remember that my way isn't necessarily "right". There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way Bart is holding the razor

In my opinion the idea of The One and Only Way to Strop a Razor Correctly isn't right. If someone finds a way that suits for him (without hurting his strop and/or razor) then why not stick with it? I'm sure some ways might be better than others but in the end it is all about our personal habits. Some like to improve their techniques in their struggle to find The One and Only Way, some try other, more personal ways to get into same destination.

Paul i had no idea who's video it is.
i paid attention to the wrist The person in the video is stropping wrong.
Rule 1 in stropping is this.
"Never turn your wrist . your wrist should stay stable."
I follow the rule and find out that is not just 1 video is wrong.
Just compare 2 videos and see how much differences makes right stropping. 2 nd video which i posted.
In fact i have no idea who's in that video ether.

If someone needs to be guided and just start to learn why not teach that person right away?
Many things could work for some exceptional person that doesn't mean rest of the people would be able to handle same.
would be better teach the right way.
i hope this helps instead of confusing.

Like I said, Sham, I don't believe there is only one "right" way to do things. I think both are excellent examples of how to strop. First, you said Bart was doing it "wrong" because his thumb wasn't on top of the razor. Then you said he was doing it "wrong" because there is a little bit of motion in his wrist. I'm pretty fond of the video because it's just about how I do it (except without the wrist action). FWIW, I think the difficult angle of filming the video accounts for the wrist motion because he's stropping almost directly out in front of his body to show the path of the razor. Bart is one of the main people that I remember emphasizing the importance of limiting wrist motion, so that makes sense to me.

The "right" way to do things with straight razors is really subjective, and shouldn't be pushed on other people, IMHO. Again, there's nothing really "wrong" with Bart's video.

Also, in the video you posted, there's a little wrist action there too...

You are right. I maybe put my words too easy to get misunderstood. Helping someone who is asking for it is for sure one of the greatest things here in SRP. That is what i appreciate here. We have here fine gentlemen of high experience to help each other whenever needed. You are for sure one of them.

Telling someone that he is all wrong in case he has already found a way that is ok with him is something different. And i do not mean you with this, sorry if you took it personally.
