Thanked: 45I do that half the time, when the house is less hectic. No appreciable difference in shave quality. (Or do I have a tin face?)
Just think about receiving a shave-ready razor in the mail. It may have been honed a couple of days ago, but it's ready out of the box.

Calcium,
+1
One of the reasons I strop during the actual shave, is to give me something to do while the lather softens my beard
Have fun !
best regards

I've moved this one to the stropping forum.
To answer your question, I dont see any reason why you cant do that if you're happy with the edge you get..! I tend to strop just before the shave, but thats mainly because I dont know which razor I'll be using that day as I just grab the one I fancy using at the time.
When I've shaved at the gym or at work, I've stropped the razor at home and then used it later somewhere else with no ill effect, so you should be fine!

Thanked: 324Have you checked with the local stropping police yet? Or are you one of those scofflaw types that tears the tags off your mattresses, too?
It's your razor and your shave and all that matters is that you're happy with it. And I see no reason at all stropping the night before would have any deleterious effect on your shave, so make your own rules up as you go along and just enjoy the shave.

I'm a little bit persnickety, I guess, but I wouldn't do that. I'm quite certain it wouldn't be a problem, but I try to strop as close to my shave as possible. But, yeah you can do it...
It takes less than a minute to strop before a shave, you know?
