    JL,

    Attach the next strop to the inside door knob.
    I remember one forum member, RTaylor, I think
    attaches his with a radiator hose clamp.

    In the event that you have forgotten your strop,
    there it will be as you go to exit your room.

    Now I am saying this on the condition that motels/
    hotels have actual door knobs.

    Just a thought that may help prevent this from happening
    again.
