    Default CroOx Application?

I have Cro Ox in a plug. It's solid. How would you best recommend I apply it to a strop paddle. It's on the balsa wood side. When I first bought it, I applied it directly from the plug in a side to side motion using the longside of the cylinder-shaped plug. I'm guessing that might not be the best way to apply it evenly. Any suggestions? thanks

    Brian,

Apply it as you have, then rub vigorously with a cloth to even it out a bit.

The coating does not have to be totally even, and you only need a light coverage.

I have mashed up some of the CrOx stick with neatsfoot oil, and applied the resulting paste with a brush, which worked OK as well.

    Have fun !

    Best regards

Depends how hard it is. Sometimes it's like a crayon and easily goes on and sometimes it like a brick and just crumbles as you apply it. If it's hard you might take a tiny piece off and work it in your hands to soften it and try rubbing it in with your fingers. You could also use a little water or even some oil. The key is to not use too much and spread it out.
