Thought this was a good string so I will keep it alive.
I like to take even a brand new strop and use a waterless handsoap and the pumice stone to condition the surface. It is important to wipe and clean off the grit good before a razor goes over it. Using Neatfoot oil after you wipe it clean then wipe it good with a paper towel or rag with Neatsfoot and you will get a great drag on your strop. Make sure and let it set for at least 24 hours after doing all the above. I make it a two day process by allowing it to dry 24 hours before applying the Neatsfoot oil. The pumice is great for touching up the nicks as posted above.
