I used 200 to clean up two nicks similar to the one described and numerous smaller ones from my strop. The paper clogs really fast, and that stuff is nasty and sticks to everything - your hands, your shirt, your pants, shoes, hair, cat... you get the idea. It was tedious work, having to clean the paper and strop very often, but mercifully didn't take a long time.

After than I just lathered the strop and let it dry, and then just brushed the residue off and rolled it with a wine bottle. It came out fine. Not great, but it is usable now.

Now I'm torn between buying a good strop or making a mediocre one. By my accounting the money will be the same, give or take ten bucks, but I'm peculiar that way.
