Should I Flip the strop?

I noticed that the NW edge (top of the strop, closest to me) on my strop is less "shinny" than the rest of my SRP English Bridle... probably because less of the blade is in contact with the leather at this stage of the X pattern.
I was thinking that I should "flip" the strop (basically moving the logo closer to the handle) to let it wear more evenly.
Does this make sense?
Am I over thinking this?

I don't think there is any need for that.

Give you strop a nice hand rubbing before each use, and it will be supple and conditioned!
I've had the very same strop for about a year now, and with the hand rubbing done at least 4-5 times a week, this strop looks great and performs even better than when I bought it

The "shinyness" is a sign of wear. I'm finding that my paddle strop is getting very shiny, almost slick, and I think that the draw is somewhat diminished as a result, although I hand rub it every day. I've avoided treating it with lather because although the draw is thereby increased, which I like, the residue tends to build up on the blade. I'd rather that not happen, but I can deal with it if it means more draw. I think I'll head downstairs and rather it up right now. Thanks for the prompt!

If you are using the x-pattern, I think it is a good idea to flip your strop just as you should occasionally flip your hones. I use a homemade strop that is symmetrical top and bottom for exactly that purpose.

Thanks for the replies... I had the strop for a little over a year, kept up with hand rubbing and a very light coat of Neatsfoot oil about 3 weeks ago. It is wearing in nicely. I just noticed the non-shinny spot.

I see no problem with flipping it. I ended up doing that to by bridle last year for the same reason. I've since flipped it back to normal and everything is good.

+1 on Birnando's advice. Giving the strop a good rubbing before each use really improves the performance IMO, and the oils from your skin will keep it in good condition.
