    Default newbie stroping question

Does a strop get better with use. I mean does a brand new strop work as well as one that has been used for several years?
    Thanks.

They do improve with use as the leather gets more supple.

The easiest way to break in a strop is to give it a good rubbing with your hands before each use. The oils from your skin will condition it and keep the leather in good nick, and prepare the surface for stropping.

That's right. As long as it is a quality strop and is well taken care of it will only get better with age. After 30 years or so you'll have a real gem.
