    Assuming the strop is unpasted, this shouldn't be an issue for several lifetimes.

    As for the original question, no you can't over-strop. I recall a thread from a few years ago where there was some experimentation along these lines, and I believe the result was that you reach a certain point where additional stropping will not improve the edge further, nor will it cause any damage. I can't remember the lap counts though.
