Thanked: 443To onimaru55: Boooo.
To the original poster: Great design. It's better than the SRD modular in that your swapout pieces are held flat no matter where you store them. I don't have any drawer space close to my shaving area where I can leave mine flat.
One thing I'd suggest is that you put some sort of finish on the plain side of the balsa you glued your felt to. That is so both sides will always experience the same humidity. Where I grew up the humidity ranged between 95% in the summer and 10% in the winter. Our old house kept us up nights, popping and snapping as the framing changed dimensions.Last edited by roughkype; 08-21-2011 at 07:36 PM.

Thanks roughkype,
I will look into sealing it! I was looking into how i could change make a quick change strop for balsa a few times, i was originally thinking rails or something it slides into but the balsa works really well this way because its soft. And it only takes a minute or two to get a bran new piece cut, lapped and into place
RE: onimaru55. just a bit of tongue and cheek from him, We have sent a few PM's, i actually got the felt from him! So it might make more sense knowing that lol He has given me HEAPS of help!Last edited by Brighty83; 08-22-2011 at 06:38 AM.

You could always use long flat magnets and some glue. If you dremmel out shallow x patterns between the wood and the magnet, the glue won't cause any lifting. Just glue the felt to another magnet for quick changing. Plus it makes it easy to store the different felt strips since you can stick magnets on the wall or side of the shave den
