Let me be the first one.. Crease Repair
First of all I'll break a champagne bottle on the hull of the new forum
Now let's get to the meat and potatoes. During a recent trip, I rolled my strop with leather on the inside and developed some creases. What would be the best way to repair it?
I was thinking of sanding over the whole surface, giving it a good cleaning and conditioning.

Thanked: 369Are they just creases or cracks through the surface?
If just creases, first I'd try rubbing them out with the palm of the hand, or with a smooth glass bottle, and some strop dressing. I'm worried that an abrasive might wear through the creases.
If the leather is actually cracked through the surface, then I don't know if it could be repaired.
And next time, roll the strop with the leather side out.

Just creases, no cracks. I rub the strop with the heel of my hand before every stropping and they're still there. How about rolling it up with the leather on the outside and leaving it like that between stroppings?

Thanked: 369The rolling might work. I'd try an abreviated version of the breaking in process that involves rubbing lather and then dressing into the leather with a glass bottle. Then let the strop dry while laying flat. If the creases aren't significantly reduced or gone after the rubbing, you could add a weighted flat surface evenly across the top of the strop while drying. If you are not familiar with breaking in, send me a PM and I'll explain.
