Thanked: 0Chromium oxide in watery medium
I've been shaving with str8ts and honing as well and just rec'd the chromium oxide spray from SRD. Unfortunately the sprayer is not working and I would like to apply the liquid to a hanging linen strop. Directions say apply evenly but not to saturate. I've poured a small amount into a shallow dish after shaking vigorously and the chroium oxide suspension seems very diluted. I've posted in another area for some assistance, but I'm new to forums. What would be the best way to apply this to a hanging linen or for that manner any strop? The liquid from the dish seems very watery and I've applied some already, but for some reason I don't think there is enough of the chromium oxide suspended in the water. any suggestions?

Call or email SRD and return your non working sprayer for a new one that is working. They stand behind what they sell. Customer service second to none.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I've run into the same, but I found that if you continue pumping it will finally spray. I think it could be that the weight of the crox takes some extra pumps to get it up the supply tube. Also be careful when shaking. I started shaking it in the walk in closet and it came out around the plunger. My wife was not at all impressed with the green dots on her clothing! Fortunately it washes out. hope this is pertinent. Howard

Thanked: 4942When you spray this on the felt or linen, you just want enough on to be able to start seeing a little green. A little goes a long way and I normally don't do more than 10 strokes as well.
Have fun.
