Thanked: 108strop warp
If a hard shell strop is slightly warped such that the razor doesn't lay totally flat at points during the stroke -- will this damage the razor?

Usually you find that problem with the wider strops. Moat narrow or normal width ones don't develop that problem. You might try soaking it in water and letting it dry out. That might help.

Thanked: 9I have a 3" w/o handle. It is developing a bit of a warp because of the way I hold it with my hand to keep it tight. It's not much. I sometimes lay it on the kitchen counter and strop like this. Other times I put mink oil, it becomes softer and does not ruin the edges. I also run a wine bottle over it for some time every once in a while. As was pointed, never had issues with narrower leather; my next wide strop is going to have at least a metal ring or something
Cheers

I have a 3" strop with a grip at the bottom and I have no problem with warping and it hangs in my bathroom all the time.
