    Default Minor scuffs..

I got an Illinois #9797 strop on Ebay a few weeks ago on Ebay as I was attempting to accumulate all my shaving gear. I had already purchased an Illinois strop from ClassicShaving before it arrived, so when it finally did and I just hung it on the wall and walked away. Now im wanting to play with it a little and im wondering if these minor scuffs are going to affect my stroping. There are no gouges or cuts, but some of the scuffs have a noticably different texture to them. How much of a scuff is to much, and how do I treat them? More mink oil?

Try the mink oil first. if that does not work then use a nylon scrubbing pad or sandpaper, 600 grit to start, to remove the scuff marks or crinkles. Recondition after that.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
