Mastro Livi
Considering the learning curve all of us here have gone through and countless reading and video watching when it comes to stropping...can I just say I love watching him strop in this video:
Un nuovo rasoio - YouTube
He's like the honey badger of stropping!

If I spanked my strop the way he does with a blade, I'd cut my strop in half in less then 10 passes.

My technique is so much different then Livi's. I could never move that fast and come down on the strop that hard.
Its just a totally different look then mine.

One thing I have always wondered, watching his stropping and honing Vids,he pays no attention to cross contamination between pastes,or stones. On the stones he just moves from one to the other, never a wipe or rinse.

That's insane! It doesn't look like the blade is ever really flat, meaning the spine doesn't touch. This goes against everything I've read and seen. Obviously he knows what he's doing though.

the slapping kind of reminds me of the video of liam finnegan from that obie talked about in his conversation. no videos or anything for these guys, they just learned to do it how it was passed down or figured out!
