Strop before. Use a Barber's hone during if needed.

My manly beard is so tough (and manly) I strop before every stroke...sometimes I interrupt a (manly) stroke to strop more

I find that my beard is not that tough and my blades are apparently quite durable. I may try stropping during a shave sometime, but so far so good

Old time barbers stropped before using the razor on each customer. They didn't strop during a shave. You shouldn't have to strop during a shave. Of course if you can't help yourself then strop away.

Nope. Just strop before, and then after to dry.... or because of my stropping addiction, shhhhhhhhh....
