Yeah, you dont know me well yet, there is never a time without risk and undue harm to myself, your talking to a guy who is gonna shim an R41 with 3 blades tonight just for the fun of it lol,... but will make a great post, ill stick with the hunk of leather for now

As far as fabric goes, its been traditionally used. I wouldnt worry about it right now. Once when you know you can strop safely without undue harm to yourself or your strop then worry about felt, linen etc as a second strop. I'm sure somebody somewhere in the past got by just fine with a hunk of leather.

You've given yourself some great advice!! In that one get together you'll know exactly what you'll need, how to use it, and maybe even leave there with it. Enjoy!!

    Kind Regards,

    Hey Syngent,
Did you get yourself a strop yet?
I have all the stuff laid out to make them, I meant to have it out at the meet.....
    Let me know.

I think it was about 2 weeks into this when I was stropping, something caught my eye out the windows and I turned to look and wack! I cut my latigo nearly in half, it wasnt a lil nick, the razor was half way through it lol. Be one with the strop!

Shut the door with the cat on the other side.

Lol I've already given my cat a blue Mohawk with spilled ink I don't think he would sit still long enough to let me try to strop on him

I tried to strop a cougar once, it took days for me to get the smell of perfume off my clothes.
