Default Dovo white paste on felt

Has anybody got experience with this paste on felt/compressed wool. I applied the dovo white aka grey paste and it the felt became lumpy. It was going to be a daily prep surface but now I don't use it. I think the way the felt absorbed the paste which is quite aqueous, caused the lumpiness, but there is not really any other way to apply the paste except in lumps because of the way it emerges from the tube.

Any thoughts or fixes from other people who have made this mistake?

I was under the impression that the white was for the leather surface. But I really dont know for sure. Give it an hour, a paste prince will emerge with sure info!

    l3580,

It would seem from your description that the Dovo White paste is water based, and thus causing the wool felt to swell. You can press the felt flat again using a steam iron. Cover the afflicted region of the felt with a damp cotton cloth, and press with steam iron. Preferably leave the felt in contact with a flat surface while it dries.

Should be back to nice and flat after the 'treatment'

    Have fun !

    Best regards

Ifaik the white paste is for linen strops. This is the first I've heard of using on felt.

Maybe lay it flat and put something heavy on top?
