Have you folded a peice of thinner more flexible leather over the top at each end or is it all one peice? Hard to tell as it is dark leather.

The leather I use is very thick (about 4-5mm) so you cannot do the tight folds like you have done there with my leather.

Any linen?

Yes, thinner leather for the end pieces, riveted on. I have a second one where all the extra leather is kept on the bottom, rather than to on bottom to give more room on top.
